About the project
Valikuvõimalus NGO (Estonia)

Valikuvõimalus MTÜ is a youth-focused NGO based in Keila, Estonia, dedicated to supporting young people’s personal and social development. The organization runs local and international projects, including youth exchanges, workshops, and initiatives like the Keila Youth Newspaper, which inspired this project. Their mission is to provide tools and opportunities for youth to express themselves, develop skills, and actively participate in their communities.
Grundtvig Institute Kft. (Hungary)

Grundtvig Institute, located in Budapest, Hungary, works to promote active citizenship and social engagement among young people. The organization focuses on media literacy, democratic participation, and inclusion through educational programs and community initiatives. With strong ties to schools and creative industries, Grundtvig Institute equips youth with the tools to become active citizens and contribute to societal development through journalism and media.
Hanta Educational Services Ltd (Ireland)

Hanta Educational Services Ltd (Hanta-ESL) is an experienced organization based in Ireland that specializes in youth development, media literacy, and social inclusion. They focus on creating educational resources, online training modules, and supporting youth employability through innovative programs. With expertise in both formal and non-formal education, Hanta-ESL empowers young people, particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds, to gain new skills and opportunities.

Kick-off Meeting: “And Now It Starts” (Estonia)
The project began with a 2-day meeting in Keila, Estonia, where partners came together to finalize the project details and ensure all team members share a clear vision. Participants, including local youth, defined the 12 course topics, established roles, and createed a communication plan. This meeting set the foundation for smooth collaboration and successful project implementation.

Mid-Evaluation Meeting (Ireland)
The second meeting took place in Ireland and focused on evaluating the first set of online course materials. Young people from each partner country tested the content to ensure it is engaging, understandable, and relevant. The team analyzed the feedback, made improvements, and used the insights to guide the creation of the remaining courses.

Finalizing and Conclusions (Hungary)
The concluding meeting in Hungary served as an opportunity to evaluate the project results, gather feedback, and finalize the outcomes. Partners reviewed the platform’s usability, shared lessons learned, and planned for future collaboration. The team celebrated achievements and made plans for long-term sustainability of the project’s results.
The Experience of the team
The project provided a valuable and inspiring experience for young people interested in journalism, video creation, and youth work. Participants highlighted the opportunity to develop new skills such as video production, scriptwriting, project coordination, and media literacy. Many found the process of creating videos enjoyable and rewarding, as it allowed them to apply their knowledge and learn through practical, hands-on activities.
Working in a cross-cultural environment was a particularly meaningful aspect of the project. Participants appreciated meeting like-minded young people from different countries, sharing ideas, and broadening their perspectives on journalism and youth work. This international cooperation inspired confidence in engaging with new people, understanding diverse cultures, and exploring innovative ideas.
Several participants mentioned that the project increased their self-confidence and motivated them to take the lead in future initiatives. They expressed enthusiasm for similar projects, recognizing the value of travel, cultural exchange, and skill-building.
Overall, the team’s experience was positive, educational, and empowering. The project not only enhanced their media and communication competencies but also encouraged personal growth, leadership, and a stronger connection to their communities and peers.
